A sampling of Project Life & Stampin’ Up!

This morning I had a few extra minutes, while Silas was playing, to look through the photos on my iPhone and put them to use. I love the convenience of being able to take photos with my phone when a photo opportunity presents itself, but I know that it can be hard to do something with those pictures. I really hate to lose those moments, so I have started using the Project Life App to document the things I don’t ever want to forget.
Did you know:
– You can send your layouts to print straight from the Project Life App and have them delivered in just days.
– PL coordinates with all of my traditional Stampin’ Up! Project Life collection.
– You can cut the printed layouts and put them in photo pockets (GASP!)
– You can collage multiple photos into one 4×6 photo so that you fit more photos into one layout.
– You can use easy photo editing apps to add text to your photos (I use WordSwag & PicLab).
– You can make dark photos bright and clear with a few simple swipes of the finger (Snapseed is my fav photo editing app).
Are you starting to feel like this is something you can do? Well, it is. I promise. It’s quick and easy to learn. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll truly be grateful that you preserved memories that were stuck in the abyss of your iPhone or computer dumping.
Are you ready to see what I did?

How To: Feathers from Washi Tape

Washi Tape Feathers with Happy Heart Embossing Folder from the Stampin' Up Occasions 2015

How are you liking the new Occasions 2015 Catalog this spring?  Stampin’ Up! did a really great job of giving us a TON of new products that are wonderful! I love a lot of things in the catalog, but the Happy Heart embossing folder is definitely near the top of my list.

Last week I mentioned that I watched the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference live, via an online feed. One of the really special things that Shelly, our CEO, showed us how to make were these amazing feathers from Washi Tape.  Who would have thought?!?  But, they look AMAZING!

Do you love it? I certainly do.  I’ll admit on this card it looks fun and feminine, but you could easily pick a neutral washi tape and dark colors to give any card and instant masculine look (I’l post a picture of this later, so keep an eye out). Here’s the skinny:

Directions

  1. Lay two pieces of washi tape side by side, slightly overlapping, face up (pattern side down, sticky side up).
  2. Lay a piece of twine lengthwise in the middle of the two face up pieces of tape.
  3. Layer two additional pieces face down (pattern up) and press to seal.
  4. Cut the ends of the tape so that they taper into a point, leaving a twine tail at one end.
  5. Cut small diagonal cuts on both sides of the twine to make a feathered look.
  6. Fluff the cuts to that the feather comes to life.

What do you think? Really simple, right?  Okay here are two additional photos of this card that is embossed with Happy Hearts. I pulled apart the gold sequin trim to add sequins to the front of the card and tied a tiny gold ribbon bow at the end to the feather. This particular washi tape is from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory pack, but you could easily substitute for your favorite tape.

The complete list of ingredients (supplies) is listed below the cards and there is a downloadable versions as well.  And, don’t forget to check out the WEEKLY DEALS; they are listed below also.

Have you done these 3 Things to Prepare for the New Year?

Have you done these 3 Things to Prepare for the New Year?

It’s mid January and you know what that means- you should be well on your way to preparing for the things to come in 2015. By now, you have made resolutions to eat healthier, pay off debt, be more organized, and just be on top of things this year.  I know I have! I am going to help you out with meeting some of those goals this year.

I have come up with a few things that will help you have a more organized, prepared 2015.

Perpetual Birthday Calendar from Stampin' Up!

1. Keep track of Birthdays & Special Dates

We all need to remember special days of those we love: birthdays, anniversaries, and Holidays.  The Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project is just what you need to stay of top of all of those important dates in 2015.  I have scheduled a gathering to complete the Stampin’ Up! Perpetual Calendar Project Kit so that you will have this awesome tool on hand throughout the year.  Below is a video, so that you can see the calendar up close.

I am hosting a gathering to make this amazing kit on January 31, 2015 at 11:00AM.  The day will include preorder of Perpetual Birthday Calendar kit with gift box, use of my coordinating stamps and ink to decorate each page of the calendar, as well as instructions and demonstration of how to make the project.  I’ll also provide treats and drinks to sip and snack while you complete the craft.

You can find details and RSVP here.

2. Track Your Monthly Bills

Do you ever wonder if you remembered to pay that bill or mail out that check?  I am constantly trying to recall whether or not I mailed a check or paid a bill online  (I can never remember my passwords and when I can’t log in, I forget to go back and try it again).  I couldn’t take the stress of not remembering when things were due each month, so I started a search to find a way to track my monthly obligations. I wanted a chart that I could check off after I mailed or paid each bill; one that listed the Payee and the date it was due (and an approximate amount).  And I found it. I found this amazing printable that does just that- tracks the bill, due date, and amount. I can balance my checkbook in an instant. I have printed this chart, which is good for the entire year, and placed it into the front of a binder where I keep my organizational printables.

Download it here: FREE BILL TRACKER

3. Have a Planner & To Do List

There is nothing better in the world than using a paper Planner to stay on task.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPhone and Google Calendar, but putting the pen to paper really solidifies my events, to-do tasks and goals throughout the year.  It is a concrete reminder that there are things that MUST be done, that are important and that need a follow up action.  It is important to me to keep my word and follow through, and in order to do that all of the time, I write things down.  Without writing them down, I unintentionally forget, or I don’t make time to get everything done that needs to be done.

Not only is my planner a way to schedule meetings and get togethers, but I can make daily and weekly to do lists, make wise use of my time and be more productive by list making. It helps with time management.  And even better, I can jot down that million dollar idea that I have that I need to remember, a phone number of a new friend, an address to send a card, or a shopping list for the laundry detergent I just used the last of.  I cannot stress how important it is to use a planner for me to stay on top of it all.

New Stamp Set!

I am SOOOO so excited to share this new stamp set with you, Better Than E-mail! (What’s better than e-mail? In additions, it is an amazing stamp set that meets the requirement of the Angel Policy (if you sell cards, crafts, to items that use Stampin’ Up! stamps or paper, you must stamp the products with an Angel Policy copyright stamp because the images are owned by SU.  If you are gifting cards or making and sending- the Angel policy does not apply, but you’ll love this stamp so much, you will want it).
