Pink Heron Dining Room x One Room Challenge 2023: Week 1
Sometimes you need to be bold, step outside the box, and really embrace a space. When I moved into this house the dining room was pink and white, which I LOVE. I’ll never say no to a pink room, but it wasn’t enough pattern for me.
I imagined the pink Gucci Heron wallpaper from day one and it was just a matter of pulling a room together around it.
The One Room Challenge is an 8 week sprint to design and decorate to completion any room of your (or a friend/family/client’s) house. This year I am tackling the pink dining room.

Here are the before photos from pre move in when the house was still empty. Of course we have filled it with (too many) things.
Pink, traditional molding and lighting; nothing offensive, but nothing to shake a stick at either.
Week One: We’re dry fitting the mural wallpaper for the room.
And in full transparency, here’s the room as it is- the left is where I shoot photos for my online decor/faux floral shop, the hodge podge of chairs that made it from other rooms, the sideboard that traveled from the last house that I loathe.
It’s real life- how we really live and how it isn’t working. So, it’s time to Zhuzh it up with wallpaper, paint, an antique sideboard and some fun fabrics.
