Pink Laundry Room Ideas That Make You Want To Do Laundry
Use these ideas to help you create a Pink Laundry Room that will make you want to do laundry right now. From wallpaper to paint and tile, this is what you need.
We just passed the 30 day mark of living in our new house and I have yet to complete a single room. While I have a few rooms in the works, it seems to be moving at a snail’s pace as a whole. Largely this is due to my ability to squirrel around from one project to the next without completing it.
I *think* I spend less money if it’s split between rooms, when in reality it’s the same amount whether each room has a rug or one room is totally done and the others don’t have furniture. My ideas are bigger than my budget. Don’t we all have that problem!
CREATING A LAUNDRY ROOM DESING PLAN
Anyways, now is when you should tell me to take my own advice and follow a plan. And that’s exactly what I am setting out to do. I’ve created a family room moodboard/plan and now I’m working on a laundry room plan.
STEP ONE
Step One of creating a master design plan is to gather inspiration. I ran across this Sherwin Williams paint color called Dynamo and I cannot get it out of my head.
I started with that paint swatch as my first piece to the pink laundry room puzzle. For a colorful laundry room, I know I’ll need to source the following:
- paint color
- wallpaper print
- faucet and hanging rod finish
- shelf/drying racks
- light fixture
- rug/runner
For the wallpaper, I found this floral Waverly wallpaper with a charcoal gray background and fuchsia flowers to complement the pink paint I’ve been eyeing.
Sherwin Williams Dynamo paint will be the cabinet color in the pink laundry room.
STEP TWO
Gather Materials. Now that we’ve made a preliminary list of things we need, we can begin to source the things for the room. I already have a washer and dryer as well as cabinets. As soon as we moved in I bought a new faucet from Ferguson Showrooms to replace the leaky one.
Next step is order samples. This means painting a large sample board to make sure the color is what you expected and that it works with the other elements in the room. For this pink laundry room, I’ll need to order wallpaper samples to compare to the paint sample.
STEP THREE
Finally, you can start to DIY and order now that you’ve planned the room and checked the samples.
Thanks for letting my share my laundry room plans for the new house. I know that the more time I put into planning the more I will be able to get done. It’s a great reminder that DIY projects and even larger scale design projects take time, planning, and patience.
