15 DAYS OF FALL {DAY 13}: Hang One Piece of Art

A pop of color on an otherwise bare wall can brighten up any space, and adding a personal touch to your décor can make your home feel like truly yours. If you’ve been looking for a way to add a little personality to your living space, why not hang a piece of art that you’ve had sitting around?

I have a tendancy to buy artwork (or be gifted art or find it at a garage sale or consignment store) and then never hang it up. So, if you have a piece of art that you need to hang, go grab a hammer, tape measure, hanging kit and get to work.

While I usually recommend LARGE ART for living rooms, dining rooms– those large walls that need something HUGE, we’re focusing on small moments today.

Find a place in your home that could use a small piece or collection of artwork- a narrow kitchen wall, hallway turn, over the toilet, eye level beside a reading chair.

Now if you’re in the market for something new, look for an inexpensive one of a kind gem at a consignment store or a modern reproduction at Home Goods.

A small change can make a big impact, so don’t be afraid to experiment until you find the perfect statement piece for your home.
