Hello, Hello. Welcome back to StampinFool.com. I am so glad you are here! I’ve decided to put a crazy amount of pressure on myself and join in on the One Room Challenge again this Spring 2019 . Last year I updated a Guest Bathroom; {see the reveal here}. If you followed along, you learned how to paint vinyl floors.
In addition to completing my much neglected dining room and adding a ton of style, I will be sharing useful DIY home improvement and decorating tips each week. We will go over rules for things like choosing the right size rug, how to hang curtains, proper light fixture placement, and how to budget and track spending on a decorating/renovation project.
I can’t wait to share updates with you! Head over to Instagram to follow along in Stories with daily polls on furniture choices, paint colors and choosing artwork.
For the next six Wednesdays I will take you behind the scenes week by week while making decorating choices for our dining room. Are you ready to see my inspiration board and some of the pieces I’ve chosen for the dining room?
THE PLAN
And the winner is GREEN! I am loving the color green and I want to incorporate a green and blue color palette into our living room to liven it up.
- install chair rail and other trim work around the room.
- wallpaper the top half of the walls with a fun green pattern.
- paint the lower half of the walls blue.
- upholster the end chairs.
- purchase & hang curtains for added color and a finished look.
- find a rug, lamps, vases, trays & accessories to tie the room together.
One of the challenges of this room is that it has an awkward layout with odd walls and openings. There isn’t much we can do with the structure because the stairs back the interior wall, so I have to work with what I have. Here’s a snapshot of the room layout.
I’ve picked out a few fabric, wallpaper and paint swatches and I’m really to start this project.
